Our highly-proficient metalshop division is capable of fine finishes and decorative welds on a full spectrum of materials-- from thin-gauge stainless all the way to hefty structural steel. We work in steel, stainless, brass, and aluminum for residential, commercial and public spaces.
In shop, we offer multi-process CNC cutting, all forms of arc welding, extensive punching, bending and machining. We do in-house brushing, polishing and patina finishes. We have relationships with excellent local shops for anything we can't do in shop-- laser cutting, 5-axis waterjet, laser tube cutting, galvanizing, industrial paint and powdercoating. We work closely with our vendors to eliminate integration issues and achieve the finest product possible.
We can execute your design or develop the project from a sketch on a napkin to final product. We offer a full turnkey service-- bring us in and we'll measure, design, fabricate and install. We build custom doors, window systems, canopies and unique mechanicals. We love a good challenge.
Furniture designed with you, tailored to your space and your needs, artfully integrating materials including metal, wood, leather, plastics and composites.
We utilize 3d design and advanced tools and techniques to achieve solutions not possible through traditional means. In shop we have a 5' x 10' CNC router with vacuum bed and tool change, a 7-axis robot arm, 62" x 40" CO2 laser with roll feed capabilities. We use these tools to aid in all steps of the process-- from prototyping, jig making, ergonomic testing through final product.
We take on projects of all sizes-- from small production runs for businesses to one offs for private clients.
Design is shared language we speak in order to facilitate the creation of complex and challenging projects. Each project that comes to us first passes through our design department, gets drawn, iterated, exploded, reworked and finalized for production. Design helps us catch issues before they happen on the shop floor or during install. Not only is it the most practical way to describe something-to-be-built, it is the the best way we've found to share what's in our heads with the world.
Design is also the way we process ideas. We know well the feeling of a kernel of an idea at the edge of the mind's eye. It's got a vague shape but no defined edges. It takes a process of development, iteration and discussion to achieve a clearer vision. From there, we work on the form, feasibility and means of production.
All that is to say, if you have an idea or need for something truly custom-- an intricate bar top, an eccentric lighting element, unique furniture item or sculptural element-- we can take it from idea to reality. If you have a unique problem that needs a unique solution, let us take a crack at it.
We excel in the finishing stages of a project-- executing the finer details of a build out with precision or creating that perfect statement piece for a space.
In addition to our traditional wood and metalshop our digital fabrication department does in house 3-axis CNC routing and milling, 7-axis robot arm carving, hot wire foam cutting and resin and extrusion 3D printing. We also have in shop capabilities for painting, fiberglass, hard coating, mold making and casting of concretes and resins.
Signmaking is a dying art. A good sign carries a reputation of its own. It can serve as an inter-generational landmark while inscribing the name and character of a business on an entire city. As both a fabrication shop and a licensed sign contractor, we can take an idea from design through permitting to fabrication and installation. We believe that a sign should be well-designed, beautiful, and built to last.
In addition to our extensive in-shop capabilities, we have relationships with skilled neon craftsman.
We have the attention to detail and experience to take on large development and fabrication projects for state-of-the-art museums and institutions.
An integral part of our team helped construct the 30,000-square-foot Weiss Energy Hall at the Houston Museum of Natural Science from 2016-2019. Utilizing this expertise, we are now in process on the new Welch Chemistry Hall.
Outdoor furniture and amenities for public spaces. Furniture built to last for parks, shopping centers and neighborhoods.
Let us work with you to design something specific to your space or choose from a variety of site furnishings we've developed.
