Eric is a craftsman with a strong background in both physical and digital creation. He loves the cold strength and beauty of steel. He hates wood but the feeling is mutual. Eric is notorious for solving unforeseen problems by producing just the right tool or scrap of material from the cab of his truck. Before rootlab, Eric was a Project Manager for Mainland Construction Inc. He has a B.A. in Visual Arts from Rice University.

Al is an engineer by education and fabricator by training. Growing up he was inspired by his dad and grandad’s passion for designing, building, and gardening. He is passionate about sustainable building, urban gardening and green energy production. You can find him in his garden whispering soft encouragements to his beloved plants & trees.
Liz enjoys sailing, cooking, gardening, wine and her favorite artistic style is Fluxus. She currently resides in international waters for reasons best known to her.

Eric’s time is split between creating custom furniture pieces and developing his art practice. After living a few years in Baltimore, studying art at MICA, he moved back to his native Houston to hone his skills and be closer to his family. He now looks forward to setting up a studio practice that combines his interests in both art and design.
Andrew is a transplant from California who found rootlab and settled his family in Houston. He loves outdoor activities such as soccer and dirtbike riding and playing music in his spare time.
Juan spends his spare time riding bikes yet to be designed, searching for awesome horror and sci-fi movies, and torturing his brain cells with mind-bending facts about quantum mechanics and the universe. He also loves beer and being outdoors.
Matt is a multidisciplinary roboticist and mechatronics specialist. He started building robots at the age of nine, won BattleBots IQ and a position at Hanson Robotics before reaching eighteen, and founded the UTDallas combat robotics group that continues to compete to this day. For 7 years he developed ocean bottom seismic recorders that had to stand up to the harshest conditions on earth. He then spent another 3 designing many of the interactives on display at the Wiess Energy Hall at HMNS.
Jarrett is from South Haven Michigan. He's been welding for 9 years and been in Houston for 5 years. He enjoys playing video games when he's winning and spending time with his family.
