An architect approached us to design and build a custom curved bench for the lobby of Motiva's new downtown Houston office.

We were presented with the amazing work of Matthias Pliessnig as our only concept and inspiration imagery. Using this as reference we developed a parametric design program to create sculpted CNC ribs that then had steam bent walnut half round stock attached to it. We made custom brass end caps for the piece.

I think we can all agree that this was one of the most challenging objects we've ever built.
