We designed and fabricated a new museum-quality backlit display case for NASA’s Johnson Space Center showcasing the Extravehicular Activity (EVA) and Intervehicular Activity (IVA) space suits designed for use in the International Space Station. The EVA suit, weighing 310 pounds, required a robust aluminum armature, which we developed in house.
All elements except for the space suits were developed by our team including the lighting, graphics and signage. Many of the detail elements were developed and fabricated in-house from pictures of the real ISS. The space suits used were real artifacts that had been to space. Additionally, we created a small section of lunar surface for display of one of the Apollo space suit.
